Teacher Jan's Place

I help your homeschool child learn with confidence

Every child learns differently. Sessions are built around where your child is today, at whatever progress or level they are in.

I teach preschool through Grade 9 in a calm home setting in Naga City. I am here to help your child understand, grow, and feel good about learning.

What homeschool families say

She is a teacher with a mix of ‘mothering’ and a friend to my daughter.

One time, I asked my daughter, “Who is stricter: Teacher Jan or Mama?” She confidently answered, “Mama”… so it is safe to say that Teacher Jan is my daughter’s favorite teacher. Teacher Jan is presently my daughter’s homeschool teacher. Just recently, I asked her again if she wants to go to a regular school or continue homeschooling under Teacher Jan’s supervision… She chose the latter. What would I do without Teacher Jan’s help?! Yes, she is a great help to me in educating Rafa. Her role goes way beyond academics; she is a teacher with a mix of ‘mothering’ and a friend to my daughter. She is a gentle but effective educator. One of the many signs I saw in my daughter that led me to believe homeschooling is good for her, is that whatever she is learning in class, she is able to share as if she is teaching it back. Whatever that method of learning is, one great factor of it is T. Jan’s way of teaching: educating while nurturing.

How I help homeschool families in Naga

I bring decades of teaching experience

I have taught preschool through Grade 9 for over 20 years and led The Raya School Naga. That experience shapes how I explain lessons and guide your child through their homeschool work.

I support the subjects on your plan

Filipino, English, Math, Science, and AP for preschool to grade 9. Whether you need one subject or steady help across the week, sessions follow your materials and your child's current level.

I work through the lessons that stall

When a topic keeps slowing progress, I work through it with your child until it clicks. The aim is understanding that helps them grow in confidence and feel better prepared for real life, not just the next page of work.
